We made a family trip out to our favorite place, Maui. We had a great time eating, relaxing, sunning, eating, watching waves, hiking, eating enjoying the scenery and eating. I kinda feel like we maybe we visit too much as people at the hotel remember us from last year by name, well sir name at least. Still, it is nice to be remembered and provided such nice consistent service when traveling.
Here are some of the family pictures we took together enjoying the island.

I wish I had taken some more pictures of Hawaii itself as it is just so beautiful, but these are what I got this time. There will always be another time…

While we were there, we were definitely relaxed and trying to have as much fun as possible as you can imagine. We were also enjoying as much of the locals as possible. By the way, we are really into seeing chickens everywhere. Here is some evidence of that.

OK, now you know we love to eat. We have some of our favorite spots we hit up in Maui every time and we always look for a few places to try out. The places we went to this time were Mama’s Fish House, Tin Roof Maui, Sam Sato’s, The Fish Market Maui, The Plantation House, Kaleis, Sansei Sushi, Nalu’s, Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop and The Banyan Tree.
This was our first time trying out Mama’s Fish House. We had a good time and enjoyed the food. Was a good way to spend an afternoon.

We decided to stay in on one night at eat locally so we ate at the Banyan Tree. The food was good, but they got busy so the services started to decline, but overall was a good meal. Check it out.

We had found The Fish Market on our last trip to Maui and fell in love with how fresh the food was as well as the made to order poke which is amazing. We actually stopped by here twice on our trip.

A new place we tried out is Kaleis. This place came by recommendation from our guy at the hotel from the valet. He has been helping us for about 8 years of visits. This recommendation came through. We actually went 2 times while we were there there. I think the thing that got us was the Kona Coffee Mud Pie. OMG! Check it out…

Another place we like to hit up is Leoda’s. I’m not sure if it is the Brussel sprouts salad or the banana cream pie. To be honest, both of the hit well this trip so I think it is both.

One of our typical first stops when landing is going to get Tin Roof. It is simple local style food. It is a take only place, but the service is usually fast and we usually devour it in the car, just as we did this time. This place doesn’t seem to miss for us.

Nalu’s a place that we fell upon a couple of trips ago. We really enjoy this place. Good breakfast/brunch local style food. Yum!

The one place that we have to have every time we visit Maui is Sam Sato’s. This is a diner style place that serves local style breakfast and noodles. Everything is fantastic. As I think about it now, I am now craving it again. So good!

We had Sansei Sushi while we were in Maui. I think this is the 3rd time we have visited. On Sunday and Monday’s their first seating is offered at 50% off most items. We thought we could show up at 4:30PM since they opened at 5:00PM and we should get in no problem. Oh how we were mistaken. The line was CRAZY. The hostess was asking everyone how many each party had and it turned out we were 2 groups too late, so they said. The mentioned you a still put your name in and wait to eat, but we would not get the discount. Since we were standing there already we decided to wait, but we got lucky we were part of 3 additional parties who were added and were able to get the 50% off. WHOOT!

Our final dinner we tried the Plantation House in Kapalua. As it is on the golf course property I was absolutely excited. The grounds are fantastic. To me the food was a bit of a miss, but the dessert was probably the best thing I had on the trip, Pineapple Upsidedown Cake.

So for those who don’t know. I am not a bug guy at all. Not that this was a bug but this absolutely freaked me out enough for me to just slam my beer at the pool and go back up to the room. Damn it!
One last thing that we almost didn’t get an opportunity to do is get shave ice. It is crazy how long it took us to get this. We should have went sooner, but at least we go it.
